On the evening of April 30, 2025, a tragic fire incident occurred in a three-roomed timber house located in Ngawaini area, Nyeri County. The unfortunate victim was identified as Solomon Keya, a 25-year-old man. According to the police report, the incident took place around 9 pm, leaving Keya’s body charred beyond recognition. The cause of the fire remains undetermined, and investigations are ongoing to ascertain if arson was involved. The body was transported to a local mortuary for an autopsy and further investigations. In a separate incident, a body was discovered in Kibarani River, Mwatate, Taita Taveta County. The precise circumstances surrounding this incident are unclear, but initial reports suggest that it may have been a case of murder. The body was removed from the river and taken to the mortuary for an autopsy and other necessary procedures. In Geta area, Trans Nzoia County, the body of a 40-year-old man named Joseph Ekai was retrieved from Seum River after a suspected drowning incident. Ekai was known to be epileptic, and it is believed that he may have had a seizure and drowned. The body was transported to Kitale County Hospital morgue for an autopsy. In Ruiru, Kiambu County, a partially decomposed body of Gibson Kuria, 61, was found in Mukuyu River. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear, and investigations are ongoing to determine if it was a case of drowning or if he was killed and dumped in the river. The body was removed from the river with the assistance of divers from the Kiambu County government and taken to General Kago Funeral Home for an autopsy. Lastly, in Homabay, a 23-year-old woman named Esther Aluoch reportedly fell ill and died while receiving treatment at a local hospital. The cause of her death is currently unknown, and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause. The body was preserved at a local mortuary pending an autopsy.
